Modern Replica blade mounted in Shirasaya
PROJECT DETAILS:
This project was initiated by the Client who wanted a custom Habakkuk and Shirasaya made for a replica Naginata blade they acquired.
The Habakkuk was forged from copper in the traditional method, polished and given an aged / darkened appearance using heat.
The Shirasaya was constructed in Beechwood, with a stabilised Walnut Burl spacer on the Tsuka. The Mekugi was carved from Buffalo Horn and polished.
